Job Description

The Ansonborough is a distinguished boutique inn nestled in the heart of Charleston's historic district. This establishment beautifully combines the rich heritage of a former stationer’s warehouse with modern luxury, offering guests an intimate and refined hospitality experience. Known for its captivating architecture, featuring high ceilings, rustic wooden beams, and elegant wood paneling, The Ansonborough reflects the cultural essence and Southern charm of Charleston. The inn is admired for its spacious guestrooms, thoughtful curated decor, and attention to detail, creating an inviting atmosphere that appeals to travelers who appreciate personalized service and cultural storytelling. As a respected member of the Charleston hospitality scene, The Ansonborough prioritizes delivering exceptional guest experiences through a dedicated and highly trained team.

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Cook II to join our culinary team and elevate the dining experience across all dining venues in the property. This includes the restaurant, cafe, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquet events. The Cook II will serve as a culinary expert, responsible for preparing and supervising food with a keen eye for detail, quality, and presentation. The role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses creativity in food preparation, and demonstrates leadership in managing kitchen operations. You will lead kitchen staff, anticipate and solve operational challenges, communicate effectively with coworkers and guests, and maintain excellent sanitation and safety standards.

This position demands a proactive individual who is organized, an excellent time manager, and passionate about delivering top-tier dining experiences. The role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit team at a historic and charming boutique inn, with a culture that values culinary innovation and excellence. The Cook II will play a key role in maintaining the inn's reputation for exceptional dining, contributing to every dish’s taste and appearance while fostering a smooth, efficient kitchen operation.

Employees hired full-time at The Ansonborough become eligible for a competitive benefits package after an initial waiting period. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, short and long-term disability income, life insurance options, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. The company now also offers daily pay options, catering to the financial needs of its employees. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced culinary professionals who wish to work in a dynamic environment anchored in history but looking toward innovation and excellence in hospitality.
