The company offers both seasonal and long-term career opportunities, providing employees with a chance to grow within an organization that values creativity and community involvement.
At McMenamins Anderson School, the server role plays a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment. Every server is expected to be highly adaptable, fulfilling a variety of tasks from opening to closing the establishment. Responsibilities include greeting incoming customers, assisting them with seating arrangements, taking food and beverage orders, and serving drinks including beer, wine, and spirits. Employees will also bus tables, restock supplies, operate the POS system, manage payments, perform dishwashing, and generally maintain cleanliness both inside and outside the venue. The server must actively maintain positive customer relations and ensure the service and work areas are organized and efficiently stocked for smooth operations. This role requires physical endurance, mental agility, and strong multitasking skills. Servers at McMenamins Anderson School are encouraged to work both independently and cooperatively as team members, supporting a harmonious and productive work environment.
The wage range for this position starts at $17.13 per hour plus tips, highlighting McMenamins' commitment to competitive pay. Additionally, the company offers numerous benefits to foster employee satisfaction and career development. These include staff discounts on hotel rooms, wine products, apparel, and spa services, as well as happy hour beverage pricing available all day. McMenamins also provides a comprehensive insurance benefits package including medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, and alternative care coverage for eligible employees. Financial security is supported through a 401(k) plan with employer contributions, and there is paid time off to encourage work-life balance. The company strongly believes in promoting multiple career paths where employees can advance from roles such as server to manager or explore opportunities at other company venues, including wineries and concert locations.
More than just a workplace, McMenamins Anderson School focuses on community revitalization by renovating historic buildings and properties throughout the Northwest. The company contributes financially to local schools and non-profit organizations, collaborates with other local businesses with innovative products, and maintains its pubs and hotels as inclusive spaces where people gather to relax, socialize, and build community bonds. This role at McMenamins is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in vibrant, customer-focused environments and desire to be part of a company that values culture, history, and community involvement while providing a positive, supportive work atmosphere with growth potential.
