The Guest Service Ambassador role at AHC Hospitality is integral to creating memorable first and last impressions for our guests. This position involves greeting and assisting guests as they arrive at the valet motor lobby or main lobby, ensuring their experience is seamless and welcoming. Responsibilities include handling guests’ luggage with care, safely parking their vehicles with a focus on timeliness and security, and attending to any bell service needs promptly and professionally. Maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times is essential to this role.

In addition to direct guest interaction, ambassadors are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the airlock and motor lobby areas. Monitoring valet parking equipment and reporting necessary repairs is also a key part of the job. Participation in departmental meetings and adherence to AHC Hospitality’s policies, guest service standards, and operational procedures are mandatory. Ambassadors are encouraged to actively seek opportunities to enhance the guest experience by going above and beyond standard expectations.

The role requires maintaining a thorough understanding of local geography, specifically the Grand Rapids area, to facilitate prompt and efficient vehicle retrieval and parking. Candidates must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting large parcels and standing for extended periods. In line with industry best practices, becoming TIPS certified is either required or strongly preferred, supporting responsible management of guest interactions involving alcohol.

Daily responsibilities include monitoring guest arrivals, retrieving vehicles from parking facilities swiftly, maintaining the lobby's cleanliness, supporting hotel green initiatives, and collaborating effectively with other valet personnel. Additional duties may involve setting up guest amenities, conducting shoe shines, and managing confidential guest information with integrity and discretion. This position is vital in ensuring that guests receive the quality of service expected by AHC Hospitality management and our guests, contributing significantly to the company’s reputation for excellence in hospitality.

Job Requirements

  • Vehicle operator's license
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • related experience preferred
  • availability to work part-time including weekends

  • ability to work well under pressure and handle confidential guest information

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to run, walk, and stand for upwards of 8 hours
  • ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • good knowledge of Grand Rapids and greater Grand Rapids area
  • ability to lift large parcels
  • ability to build guest relationships
  • TIPS certification preferred
