AHC Hospitality is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled culinary professional to join their team in a full-time, second-shift cook position. This role involves preparing, portioning, and assembling a wide range of hot and cold menu items including salads, appetizers, entrees, and desserts, ensuring that every dish meets the high standards set by AHC and Ruth's Chris Steak House. The position requires weekend and holiday availability, and offers a competitive wage of $17 to $24 per hour.

The ideal candidate will hold a passion for culinary arts with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This chef role demands precision in cooking procedures and timing to deliver exceptional dishes that reflect the brand's culinary excellence. Responsibilities include operating a variety of kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and stoves, following health and safety standards, and participating in food waste reduction. A strong understanding of menu items, ingredients, and allergens is essential to maintain guest safety and satisfaction. Teamwork and communication skills are important, as is taking pride in the appearance and cleanliness of the work area.

  • Experience with fresh products preferred
  • minimum 200 covers per shift

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in full service, fine dining, upscale, country club, or casual dining restaurant
  • high school diploma or GED or related experience and training
  • able to demonstrate knife skills
  • able to demonstrate knowledge of proper steak cooking temperatures
  • able to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • participates in department meetings and communicates ideas and opinions

Job Duties

  • Prepare, produce, heat, cook, and bake a variety of foods including soups, entrees, meats, vegetables, or specified dishes
  • operate kitchen equipment such as electric mixers, slicers, ovens, fryers, stove tops, tilt-skillets, tilt kettles, warmers, and coolers
  • utilize kitchenware including knives, spatulas, whisks, tongs, spoons, and ladles
  • work swiftly and efficiently maintaining productivity throughout shifts
  • assist in monitoring, reducing, and managing food waste
  • maintain knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and allergens
  • follow health and safety standards including daily temperature logs and proper product rotation
  • perform daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning of kitchen facilities and equipment
  • handle guest concerns or department issues promptly
  • set up and stock station according to prep lists
  • assist other kitchen personnel with food preparation and side work
  • correctly portion, plate, and prepare food according to brand standards
  • rotate and restock all supplies during shift
  • complete all station closing duties and maintain cleanliness
  • properly dispose of trash and recyclables
  • actively comply with all departmental rules
  • perform additional duties as assigned by management
