This particular role is a full-time Pastry Cook position primarily scheduled for 2nd shifts from 11am to 7pm, with weekend availability required. This position demands a skilled individual who measures and mixes ingredients such as flour, flavorings, and fruits to create delicious pastries and tortes. Creativity is a valued quality since the role also involves decorating pastries with icing designs and continuously innovating new recipes. Attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness are crucial, as the Pastry Cook is responsible for maintaining the sanitation and organization of workstations and baking equipment.

The successful candidate will be proficient in interpreting orders accurately, applying basic culinary skills, and performing a range of bakeshop functions efficiently. Candidates must possess a good sense of taste and smell, be capable of working under pressure, and stand for extended periods in a hot kitchen environment. Teamwork and collaboration are highly emphasized, with active participation in departmental meetings and adherence to company policies paramount.

Daily responsibilities also include preparing ingredients in correct proportions, following event orders meticulously, upholding the company’s green policies, and ensuring all trash and recyclables are properly disposed of. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Related experience is preferred
  • Serve Safe certification is preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods in hot environments
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Weekend availability required
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience
  • A solid display of safe handling knife skills
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Uses other AHC hotels and staff as resources
  • Complete all daily responsibilities/cleaning task list
