The Server position at American Girl Retail in the Los Angeles location plays a vital role in offering outstanding dining experiences within the Bistro Restaurant. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager, this role involves delivering food and beverages efficiently and attentively to guests while maintaining high standards of customer service. Servers not only greet customers upon arrival but also share information about food, beverage options, and store events to enhance the overall experience. Knowledge of menu items and ingredients, including accommodations for food allergies, is crucial, as is handling customer concerns promptly and professionally.
In addition to serving guests, the Server executes all aspects of food and beverage service, including suggestive upselling, timely order delivery, table maintenance, and processing payments using the InfoGenesis register system. Adherence to food safety, workplace safety, and health sanitation laws is mandatory, ensuring a safe and compliant dining environment. The role also emphasizes teamwork and cooperation, with Servers contributing to positive workplace culture by assisting colleagues and supporting restaurant events and projects.
This position requires a physically demanding capacity, including strength, mobility, and dexterity needed for carrying trays and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexibility in schedule is essential, as the role demands availability nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred qualifications include ServSafe certification, experience in high-volume or fine dining restaurants, banquet or catering experience, and comfort with restaurant computer systems.
