- ability to wash, peel, cut, and prepare fruits and vegetables
- ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach overhead
- ability to maintain positive working relationships across departments
- ability to bake, broil, sauté, grill, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- ability to read and follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) when applicable
- must be able to speak and understand basic English

Job Duties
- Prepare and execute menu items of consistent quality for Amaya, following established recipes and presentation standards
- support service across stations such as sauté, grill, pantry, and breakfast as assigned
- cook orders to order, including accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions
- maintain a strong understanding of Amaya’s seasonal menus, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- date, label, and rotate all food items per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
- prepare mise en place efficiently while avoiding overproduction
- properly portion all items on assigned station to maintain quality and cost controls
- monitor food waste, loss, and usage
- communicate shortages or quality concerns to leadership
- check pars, determine prep needs, freezer pulls, and line setup for each shift
- assist in maintaining clean, organized workstations and properly stocked service areas
- support prep work for vegetables, sauces, and condiments for upcoming shifts
- return unused food items to proper storage, ensuring all items are covered, labeled, and dated
- perform all reasonable requests as assigned by management
