Job Description

Shaner Hotels is a leading award-winning hospitality owner-operator and management company with a prominent presence across the United States and internationally. With a portfolio encompassing over 65 properties including full-service, select-service, extended-stay, and resort hotels totaling more than 7,500 rooms in 14 states and four countries, Shaner Hotels stands out as a premier hospitality management firm. We work closely with top hospitality brands and independent locations alike to provide extensive services in hotel development, design, construction, e-commerce, and revenue management. Our commitment to excellence and growth positions us as a top choice for both investors and travelers seeking outstanding accommodations and service.

This job opening is for the AC Hotel Dayton, an exciting property located in the lively Water Street District of Dayton, Ohio. The AC Hotel Dayton features 134 stylish guestrooms and boasts remarkable views of the Dayton Dragons baseball stadium from its rooftop bar, restaurant, and rooms, offering guests a unique and memorable experience. As a member of the food and beverage team at the AC Hotel Dayton, you will play a vital role in delivering superior guest service aligned with brand standards and the hotel’s operational expectations.

The role focuses primarily on ensuring compliance with all operational procedures of the food and beverage department while also maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage safety and quality following hotel, Shaner Hotels, and franchise guidelines. This position requires working flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, to meet the operational needs of the hotel. Effective communication with the General Manager, department managers, supervisors, and other staff to ensure seamless operations is a crucial part of the role.

Duties include taking and serving food and beverage orders to guests courteously and efficiently, handling alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks responsibly, and collecting payments accurately. The role also involves assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests. Shaner Hotels values employees who can deliver excellent guest experiences consistently, with knowledge of local activities and attractions being an added advantage to assist guests further.

This position is suited for candidates with a minimum of one year in guest-facing roles, particularly those involving food and beverage service. Compliance with state age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have gone through ServSafe or equivalent food safety training as well as alcohol awareness training such as TIPS. Bilingual abilities, especially English and Spanish, are considered a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse clientele. Educational preferences include a high school diploma or equivalent, with some college education favored.

Joining Shaner Hotels means becoming part of a dynamic team committed to hospitality excellence and operational success. The company offers opportunities for growth within a supportive and engaging environment where employees are empowered to deliver premium guest services and foster memorable guest experiences. The AC Hotel Dayton’s position in a vibrant neighborhood enhances the appeal of working in a festive, community-oriented atmosphere. If you are passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to a continuously expanding and award-winning company, this role offers a great career pathway.
