Job Description

Hotel Saint Augustine, located in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood, offers an exceptional hospitality experience where tradition meets contemporary elegance. The hotel partners with prestigious culinary brands such as Perseid, a restaurant renowned for its unique approach to the neighborhood bistro concept through the flavors and culture of the Gulf Coast. Managed by acclaimed Houston chef and restaurateur Aaron Bludorn and Director of Operations Cherif Mbodji, Perseid exemplifies culinary innovation and approachable fine dining, making it a cherished destination for both locals and visitors. The restaurant was recently recognized by Bon Appetit as one of the 20 best new restaurants of 2025, highlighting its culinary excellence and dynamic dining environment. As a part of the Hyatt family, Hotel Saint Augustine emphasizes exceptional service, community engagement, and a lively atmosphere where guests are encouraged to return for casual meals and landmark occasions alike.

The AM Lead Server position at Hotel Saint Augustine represents a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced hospitality professional to join a team that values leadership, communication, and outstanding guest service. This role involves a combination of serving guests and leading front-of-house operations during the morning and early-day shifts. The AM Lead Server plays a critical role in supporting senior leadership by ensuring that service standards are not just met but exceeded, promoting a welcoming and efficient environment for both guests and colleagues. As a working leader, the Lead Server is hands-on in delivering exceptional dining experiences while guiding, training, and supporting the broader server team.

This leadership role demands a comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menus, daily specials, wine, and beverages. The Lead Server acts as a vital liaison between culinary staff and restaurant operations, helping to maintain product quality and operational consistency. Additionally, the role calls for assisting with quality control measures such as checklists and inventory, contributing to smooth service flow and elevated guest satisfaction.

Beyond daily service duties, the AM Lead Server will engage in coaching and mentoring servers, conducting pre-shift meetings, and managing on-the-floor logistics such as table assignments and pacing to balance workloads effectively during busy periods. The position may also require flexibility to assist in other food and beverage outlets or special events, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to overall outlet success.

Hotel Saint Augustine and Perseid proudly offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and work-life balance of their team members. This includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with company match, generous paid time off, complimentary room nights, discounted room rates for friends and family, free parking, well-being initiatives such as complimentary access to Headspace, and retail discounts with major companies like Apple, AT&T, and Verizon. These benefits reflect the company’s dedication to fostering a supportive and rewarding workplace environment.

Overall, the AM Lead Server role is an excellent fit for individuals with a passion for hospitality, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The position offers the chance to grow professionally within a distinguished hotel and restaurant setting, backed by strong operational support and a vibrant team culture. Candidates who thrive in fast-paced, detail-oriented environments and are eager to make a meaningful impact on guest satisfaction and team success will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
