Job Description
Hotel Oceana Santa Monica is a premier oceanfront boutique hotel located in the heart of Santa Monica, California. Renowned for its exceptional luxury and personalized guest experiences, it has been ranked the number one hotel in Los Angeles by Travel + Leisure. Recently undergoing a $35 million transformation, the hotel boasts an intimate all-suite accommodation style that caters to discerning travelers seeking refined comfort and elegance. With its stunning ocean views and proximity to vibrant dining and shopping districts, Hotel Oceana offers a uniquely immersive coastal experience. The establishment prides itself on delivering a perfect blend of traditional hospitality and modern luxury, crafting memorable stays that emphasize detail, quality, and guest satisfaction. It remains committed to setting the standard for luxury hospitality in Santa Monica and the greater Los Angeles area.
As a full-time Server at Hotel Oceana Santa Monica, you will be an integral part of the dining experience across multiple venues. The role is centered around providing flawless service and ensuring that every guest receives attentive, efficient, and warm hospitality. The dining options include La Monique, an intimate modern French brasserie that opened in Fall 2025 and designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, along with its alfresco extension, La Petite Monique, the premier poolside venue called The Veranda, the rooftop lounge Sunset Terrace offering panoramic ocean views, and In-Room Dining that delivers elevated meals in the comfort of guest suites.
Your role as a Server will involve greeting guests warmly, offering expert menu suggestions, accurately recording and delivering orders, and ensuring food and beverage presentation meets luxury standards. You will monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate their needs proactively, handling any concerns with professionalism and discretion. Additionally, you will provide support for banquet and special event services including setup, breakdown, and coordination with kitchen and events staff. Maintaining cleanliness in the service areas and adhering strictly to all sanitation and safety regulations is also part of your responsibilities. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
This opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage of $25.00 and does not require travel. Full-time schedules are based on business needs and include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The hotel values professionalism, reliability, and punctuality, expecting staff to uphold grooming and appearance standards. The role also demands compliance with food safety certifications and possession of a valid California Food Handler Card. Hotel Oceana invests in its employees by providing a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth through mentorship and excellence. Benefits feature competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan with auto-enrollment after 60 days, and paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Serving at Hotel Oceana Santa Monica means becoming part of a distinguished team dedicated to creating exceptional luxury hospitality experiences that guests will cherish and remember.
