The Pastry Cook role is vital to the success of the restaurant’s dessert service. Working closely with the Pastry Chef, the Pastry Cook is responsible for producing and presenting all dessert items to the highest standard. This includes managing the cleanliness and organization of the bakeshop, ensuring the proper rotation and monitoring of raw and finished products, and completing inventory tasks such as the weekly ice cream count. The position involves baking fresh bread throughout nightly service and preparing minor dessert components while maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Additionally, the Pastry Cook participates in special dessert production for events and in-room dining, contributing to the restaurant’s overall customer experience.

This role offers an hourly pay range of $18.00 to $25.00, with starting compensation based on experience, skills, and other relevant factors. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the Pastry Cook to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, managers, and guests, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a commitment to company policies. Physical demands include the ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and handle repetitive motions such as bending and reaching. Job Requirements

  • culinary education preferred
  • minimum of 1-year experience in restaurant and pastry
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to compose effective recipes
  • must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
  • must be able to convert recipes into larger and smaller batches as needed
  • must thoroughly understand weights, measures, and conversion of both
  • must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
  • must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • must be able to stand for duration of shift
  • must be able to bend, stoop, and reach constantly
  • must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
