The role of the Cook, specifically supporting other Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef, is critical for maintaining the high standards of the resort’s culinary offerings. This position is responsible for working primarily on the A la Carte line of the kitchen, requiring a keen attention to detail, an ability to perform well under pressure, and excellent teamwork skills. The ideal candidate will contribute to creating consistently high-quality food, following stringent Food Health and Safety regulations, and adhering to sanitation policies to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
The Cook’s responsibilities span a range of kitchen functions including food preparation, maintaining cleanliness standards, and helping manage food handling and storage procedures. This role demands competence in quickly evaluating situations to select the best course of action and maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor while supporting kitchen operations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of relevant commercial kitchen experience
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of commercial kitchen experience in a high-volume 5-star restaurant or hotel setting preferred

Job Duties
- Comply with food health and safety regulations and sanitation policies
- Evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Follow and maintain cleanliness and sanitation practices in the kitchen
- Follow proper food handling, holding, re-heating and cooling procedures
- Be present in the kitchen and assigned station when required
- Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate supervisors to complete tasks
- Perform daily prep and duties to meet restaurant standards and quality
- Produce work in accordance with deadlines and assist others with the same goal
- Ensure production, preparation and presentation of food are of highest quality
- Maintain full awareness of menu items, recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
- Operate and maintain all line equipment and report malfunctions
- Have knowledge of menu creation while maintaining food cost and quality
- Check proper station standards including labels, dates and food storage
- Consult with Sous Chef and Executive Chef on daily requirements, service and events
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
- Provide daily feedback and report issues as they arise
