The Junior Sous Chef is responsible for achieving company objectives and promoting the Flagship brand and values within the client culinary culture. This includes maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring food safety compliance, fostering employee engagement based on core values, and managing staff schedules, performance, and training. The role demands leadership and operational skills, with responsibilities spanning food procurement, production, service, inventory management, recipe adherence, and maintaining food quality standards. Daily duties also entail line checks, food reviews, kitchen cleanliness, and health department compliance, ensuring the highest standards are met.

Job Requirements

  • Active Management Level Food Handlers' Certification (ServSafe)
  • Adherence to local food handler requirements
  • Consistent performance of duties in a responsible and efficient manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs with assistance for heavier loads
  • Willingness to work scheduled hours with weekends off
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a full service, moderate to high volume restaurant or equivalent
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent culinary skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management
