The role available at Driftwood Hospitality Management is a vital position within our food and beverage operations. It involves maintaining, setting up, food production, and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, and other food items prepared at the frontline station. This position operates in a 24/7 environment, requiring flexibility to accommodate varying shift days, start times, and weekly work hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary foundation, particularly in broiling and sautéing techniques, to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality food products.

As part of the responsibilities, the employee will prepare daily preparation lists, follow recipes with precise mathematical application, and ensure all food items meet the highest standards. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to control portions and maintain proper product storage, adhering strictly to health department regulations. Safety and sanitation are priorities, with duties including cleaning refrigeration units, equipment, and work areas to comply with required standards.

Driftwood Hospitality Management looks for candidates who hold a current Food Handler Card and ideally come with at least three years of cooking experience, especially broiler cooking. Skills in food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette are essential. A good working knowledge of kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles is necessary, alongside the capability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers. Effective communication skills are important to understand inquiries from team members and provide clear instructions.

Physical demands of the role include the ability to safely lift and move goods weighing up to 100 pounds, operate kitchen tools with manual dexterity, and perform duties in extreme temperature ranges and confined spaces. Frequent physical activities such as twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and hearing are expected, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality work environment.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • Prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest check specifications to ensure consistency
  • Visually inspects and selects only the highest standard food items
  • Checks and controls proper storage of products and portion control
  • Keeps refrigeration, equipment, storage and working areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • Maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • Adheres to all company policies and safety procedures
  • Reports unsafe conditions and accidents to management
  • Provides for a safe work environment
  • Maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Assists other kitchen personnel as needed
  • Performs related duties as requested by management
