This particular opportunity is with the Courtyard Newark - University of Delaware, a Shaner managed property that perfectly blends modern technology with top-tier hospitality service. Situated on a picturesque suburban campus, this Courtyard by Marriott offers guests a comfortable, welcoming environment with well-appointed guestrooms featuring work-friendly lighting and complimentary Wi-Fi. As one of Delaware's pioneering "Green Lodging" certification holders, the property demonstrates Shaner’s commitment to sustainability. The hotel's vicinity to prominent local businesses such as WL Gore, Bank of America, and Siemens, as well as the adjacent Clayton Hall Conference Center, positions it as a hub for business and leisure travelers alike.
The role available is for a team member who will prepare and serve Starbucks coffee beverages and bistro menu items, contributing directly to the guest experience by ensuring swift, accurate service infused with a friendly, approachable demeanor. The employee will be responsible for taking and processing guest orders, delivering orders efficiently and maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in the bistro area. Adherence to all food and beverage safety standards is critical, as is effective communication with the general manager, department managers, and team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
This role offers competitive pay plus tips and requires a minimum of one year’s experience in food service or hospitality, with a preference for candidates possessing ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification and alcohol awareness training such as TIPS. The ability to adapt and assist in various operational needs, including opening and closing procedures and daily checklists, makes this a dynamic position ideal for proactive, team-oriented individuals.
Joining the Shaner Hotel Group means tapping into a network that values employee wellbeing and development, with flexible scheduling options, health-related insurance benefits, a referral bonus program, and discounts including travel perks through Marriott. For those who enjoy mornings, great coffee, a positive team atmosphere, and delivering memorable guest experiences, this opportunity is not to be missed. The company encourages applicants who meet the state age requirement for alcohol service and those bilingual in English and Spanish to apply, emphasizing inclusivity and diverse customer support.
