This specific opportunity is with the Courtyard Newark - University of Delaware, a part of the prestigious Marriott brand family and managed by Shaner Hotels. Located on a charming suburban campus, this hotel combines top-notch service with modern technology and comfortable accommodations. Guests enjoy well-appointed rooms featuring ample lighting, workstations, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The role being offered is for a hospitality team member focused on delivering exceptional guest service through the preparation and serving of Starbucks coffee beverages and bistro menu items. Responsibilities include taking guest orders, accurately delivering food and beverages, processing transactions, and maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in the bistro area. The role also involves following strict food and beverage safety standards as set by the hotel, Shaner Hotels, and Marriott requirements. Teamwork and effective communication with management and fellow staff are essential. Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in food service or hospitality
- Meet the state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude
- ServSafe and/or food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Alcohol awareness training (TIPS or equivalent) preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college a plus)
- Knowledge of local attractions is a bonus
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve Starbucks coffee beverages and bistro menu items with accuracy and speed
- Take guest orders, deliver food and beverages to tables, and ensure every guest feels welcomed
- Collect payments and process transactions accurately
- Keep the Bistro area sparkling clean and fully stocked
- Follow all food and beverage safety standards (hotel, Shaner, and Marriott requirements)
- Communicate effectively with the GM, department managers, and fellow team members
- Complete opening/closing procedures and daily operational checklists
- Jump in to help wherever needed - teamwork makes the dream work
