Job Description
The Original is a distinctive dining establishment nestled within The Rally Hotel at McGregor Square, a vibrant and culturally rich area known for its dynamic blend of modernity and history. This restaurant has successfully reinvented the neighborhood eatery experience by combining timeless inspiration from classic Americana with inventive and playful modern flair. Drawing influences from diverse sources such as 1950s diners and elegant railway dining cars of the past, The Original has created a unique ambiance that is both nostalgic and innovative. It serves a nostalgic collection of comfort foods, classics, and curiosities with a modern twist, appealing to a broad audience and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where every detail, from the food and beverage to the décor and people, reflects the restaurant's lively personality.
The Original prides itself on its balance of playfulness and expertise, offering an experience that is fun but not silly, imaginative but grounded, and knowledgeable without being pretentious. It skillfully blends an old soul's charm with a young-at-heart spirit, ensuring every visit feels friendly, adaptable, and creatively fulfilling. This establishment is not just about serving meals; it’s about creating memorable experiences. Staff members are valued not just as order takers but as integral parts of this experience, contributing their individuality and innovative thinking to the vibrant atmosphere. The environment encourages flexibility and creativity where guests can enjoy breakfast for dinner, cocktails for breakfast, or simply relax and soak in the thoughtfully designed spaces that narrate The Original’s unique story.
The current opportunity at The Original is for a bartender position within the restaurant's Food and Beverage team located at The Rally Hotel. This role plays a crucial part in delivering exceptional guest experiences through quality drink preparation, attentive service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. The bartender is responsible for mixing and serving drinks according to established recipes and standards while ensuring compliance with beverage safety controls and local liquor laws. A commitment to guest satisfaction through professional, cordial, and efficient interactions is essential. The bartender will manage financial transactions such as ringing up guest checks, processing cash and credit payments, and adhering strictly to company policies concerning these procedures.
In addition to direct guest service, the bartender will participate in inventory management by completing liquor requisitions and maintaining par levels of bar supplies. The position involves performing all sidework duties as scheduled, contributing to overall operational efficiency. Physical demands include lifting and carrying trays and supplies weighing between 20 to 100 pounds, prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and maneuvering within tight spaces. The job requires multitasking skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail in busy and sometimes noisy environments, and excellent communication skills.
This part-time, hourly role offers a starting wage of USD 16.27 per hour along with several attractive benefits, making it an excellent opportunity for bartenders seeking to work in a dynamic, creative, and supportive environment that values both professionalism and individuality. The establishment also supports its team members through paid sick time, leave, participation in a 401(k) program with employer matching, access to wellness and employee assistance programs, pet insurance options, and employee referral bonuses. Joining The Original means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to crafting exceptional guest experiences while enjoying a supportive workplace culture.
