Monterey Peninsula Country Club (MPCC) is a prestigious private golf country club located within the renowned Pebble Beach forest, an area known for its scenic beauty and world-class golfing facilities. With a membership base of over 1,100 individuals, MPCC stands out as a vibrant and active club that offers an exclusive experience to golf enthusiasts and their families. The club features two championship 18-hole golf courses that challenge players of all skill levels, combined with five diverse food and beverage venues that cater to members' culinary preferences throughout the day. The All-Around Cook position at MPCC is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who enjoy a dynamic work environment and take pride in delivering high-quality food service. This role is pivotal in assisting the culinary team with meal preparation for various settings including breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special parties. The job not only involves food preparation but also encompasses maintaining cleanliness and organization of food storage and preparation areas to ensure efficiency and safety. The all-around nature of the role requires versatility and a willingness to work across different kitchen stations as needed, under the direction of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
As an All-Around Cook at MPCC, you will contribute significantly to creating memorable dining experiences for the club’s members and guests. Your duties will range from assisting with the planning and preparation of meals according to the permanent and banquet menus, ensuring the kitchen operates under sanitary conditions well above the health department standards, to supporting the team in maintaining a safe work environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of proper sanitation procedures, and the ability to adhere to safety protocols in a busy kitchen setting. Reliability and punctuality are vital, alongside strong teamwork and respectful communication with co-workers, supervisors, and members.
The role calls for someone who has proven experience as a cook and is adept with kitchen tools and cooking techniques such as grilling, baking, and boiling. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as cook
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to maintain punctuality and reliable attendance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

Job Duties
- Assist in the planning, creation, and preparation of meals for the permanent, banquet, and daily menus
- Assist in maintaining preparation, storage, and holding areas in a clean, neat controlled, sanitary, and safe condition throughout work shift for following crews
- Assist in maintaining adequate food items to support meal orders at all times
- Work any kitchen position as directed by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen above the level expected by the Health Department
- Ensure all services to members are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail
- Support safe work habits of all banquet staff and contribute to a safe working environment at all times
- Consistently maintain the ability to come to work regularly and on time
- Follow directions, get along with co-workers and supervisors, treat co-workers, supervisors and members and their guests with respect and courtesy, contributes to a positive and rewarding team environment and refrains from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior
- Other duties and jobs may be assigned as needed by supervisor
