Alfred Coffee is a renowned specialty coffee company that opened its first location on the tree-lined Melrose Place in January 2013. Alfred Coffee is currently seeking a part-time barista to join its dynamic team. This role reports directly to the Cafe Manager and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The position offers a competitive wage starting at $17.87 per hour with tips, bringing the total hourly earnings to approximately $21.28 to $25.28. This part-time role requires a commitment to a minimum of three shifts per week, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals who value teamwork, customer interaction, and a passion for specialty coffee.
As a part-time barista, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable customer experiences by delivering high-quality beverages and excellent service. This includes greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and explaining menu options to ensure guests leave the cafe satisfied. You will consistently craft beverages according to Alfred’s standardized recipes, maintain coffee equipment, and understand the origins and flavor profiles of the coffee and tea served. In addition to beverage preparation, you will also be involved in food service, preparing items following Alfred’s recipes and food handling protocols, thereby maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

- Flexibility to bend and squat as necessary to perform cleaning and stocking tasks
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of operating a cash register or tablet device to enter customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Ability to speak clearly and project voice to effectively communicate with customers and team members
