The role of Barista at Alberta Street Coffee is a part-time position reporting directly to the Director of Food and Beverage. This position offers a salary starting at $16.30 per hour plus participation in a tip pool, rewarding team members for their dedication and service. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a coffee shop or food service environment
Passion for coffee and a strong interest in learning about different brewing techniques and beverage styles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, ensuring a positive and personalized experience
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to our recipes and standards
Operate coffee machines and equipment efficiently, maintaining quality and consistency in every drink
Handle cash and card transactions accurately, providing correct change and processing payments promptly
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, and seating areas
Replenish inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies as needed
Assist with baking and food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, as required
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner
Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures (Oregon Food Handlers Card required for this role)
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations and a friendly, cooperative work environment
