Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton is a globally recognized luxury hospitality brand renowned for its exceptional service and commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences. Operating over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton is part of Marriott International, an industry leader dedicated to fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment. Known for its iconic Gold Standards, including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, The Ritz-Carlton upholds a culture where creativity, compassion, and thoughtful service set the benchmark for luxury hospitality across the globe.

At The Ritz-Carlton, associates are celebrated for their unique backgrounds and talents, fostering a rich and dynamic workplace where professionalism and personal growth are prioritized. As a part of Marriott International’s portfolio of brands, The Ritz-Carlton offers team members the opportunity to be proud of their work, develop their skills, and belong to an amazing global network.

The position of Food and Beverage Server at The Ritz-Carlton is a vital role that embodies the brand’s commitment to excellence in guest service. This role requires providing professional, courteous, and efficient presentation of food and beverage service to all guests, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued. Responsibilities include setting and cleaning tables, serving beverages like water, bread, and coffee, and greeting guests warmly—often by name. Attentiveness to detail is essential, including stacking trays correctly for efficient stewarding and adhering to strict safety and cleanliness standards throughout the shift.

The role demands a strong focus on maintaining all work areas, including proper stocking, cleaning, and monitoring of service equipment and supplies. Closing duties are comprehensive and include securing reusable goods, cleaning and storing equipment, locking refrigerators, restocking inventory, turning off lights, and completing a daily cleaning checklist. Maintaining cleanliness according to health and safety regulations and demonstrating a clean-as-you-go philosophy are critical components of the job.

Equally important is adherence to company safety and security policies. The Food and Beverage Server must report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management promptly and complete all necessary safety training and certifications. Personal presentation is also key; employees must maintain a clean and professional uniform and uphold confidentiality and company asset protection.

Communication skills are essential, as the server will interact frequently with guests and colleagues, utilizing professional language and telephone etiquette. The role supports a team-oriented environment, emphasizing positive working relationships, teamwork, and professional responsiveness to workplace concerns. The server is expected to meet quality standards consistently, interpret varied information formats, and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering in diverse physical environments.

No prior related work or supervisory experience is required for this entry-level role, making it suitable for individuals eager to start or grow their careers in luxury hospitality within an internationally acclaimed brand. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, but the emphasis is on attitude, dedication, and the ability to embrace The Ritz-Carlton’s Gold Standards.

Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a team that not only delivers exceptional service but also invests in your personal and professional development. Here, you can be where you do your best work, begin your career purpose, belong to a remarkable global team, and become the best version of yourself.
