Currently, the San Antonio Country Club is seeking to fill several Ala Carte Wait Staff positions. This opportunity is ideal for skilled waiters or waitresses who have experience working in high volume, fast-paced dining environments. Applicants should bring at least one year of relevant experience, and while some knowledge of wine is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure all staff members have the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, enhancing the dining experience of the club members by being attentive, courteous, and professional. This role involves engaging with guests, providing detailed menu information, managing orders efficiently, and maintaining an orderly dining environment. Job Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a high volume, fast-paced dining environment
  • some wine knowledge preferred but not required
  • able to work split shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • TABC and health code certification preferred
  • physical ability to lift at least 25 lbs
  • punctual and reliable
  • professional and courteous demeanor
  • excellent communication skills

Job Duties

  • Greet members at table and provide service
  • present menu and provide detailed information about portions, ingredients, or food allergies
  • prepare tables with proper linens, silverware, and glasses while maintaining organization
  • ensure timely taking and delivery of food and drink orders
  • inform members of daily specials
  • offer menu recommendations upon request
  • up-sell additional or promotional products when appropriate
  • take accurate food and drink orders using POS software, order slips, or tablets
  • check member's age for alcohol consumption (carding)
  • communicate orders properly to kitchen staff via POS
  • communicate special situations with managers
  • verify member's information when opening tickets
  • serve food and drink orders safely and promptly
  • practice proper service techniques
  • comply with opening and closing duties
  • check all utensils for good condition
  • arrange table settings and maintain tidy dining area
  • bus tables timely and follow dish dispensing procedures
  • meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes, and service specifications
  • follow all health department regulations, including TABC and Health Code certification
  • provide excellent customer service to members
  • maintain a well-groomed, polished image and professional appearance
  • be punctual and prepared for each shift
  • demonstrate a teamwork mentality
