The Airside Experience Specialist role at Signature Aviation is integral to ensuring the smooth and safe operation of private aviation ground services. This position centers around providing exceptional service to guests, crew members, and vendors within the private aviation terminal environment. Airside Experience Specialists perform a variety of duties including operating ground service equipment like fuel trucks, de-icing trucks, and ground power units, while executing critical tasks such as fueling, de-icing, lavatory servicing, parking, marshalling, wing walking, catering delivery, and towing. The specialist is responsible for maintaining safety and security on the airside ramp, adhering strictly to company policies, safety standards, and security protocols. Flexibility is paramount in this role, as candidates must be willing to work flexible schedules that include nights, holidays, and weekends. The job requires working in diverse weather conditions and in proximity to moving aircraft engines and propellers, which demands vigilance and adherence to safety best practices.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 18 years of age
  • ability to pass background and drug checks
  • meet airport security badge requirements
  • legally authorized to work
  • excellent vision and ability to pass color vision test
  • valid state driver’s license
  • CDL if required by location
  • good judgment and ability to follow directions
  • preferred experience or training in aviation or customer service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • minimum of 18 years of age
  • ability to pass company background checks, drug tests, and meet airport security badge requirements
  • legally authorized to work in the jurisdiction of employment
  • excellent vision and coordination with the ability to pass a color vision test
  • valid state driver’s license, commercial driver’s license (CDL) if required
  • ability to exercise good judgment and follow directions
  • preferred 3 to 6 months experience or training in aviation, customer service, or related field
  • excellent guest service skills with an energetic and guest-obsessed personality
  • ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in English
  • math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and time

Job Duties

  • Work as part of a team to conduct airside operations safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies and standard operating procedures
  • collaborate, cooperate, and work closely with all team members, guests, clients, vendors, and aircraft crewmembers to ensure service needs are met
  • proactively prepare for arriving/departing aircraft, identify and perform open job tasks, and immediately speak up and/or point out observed safety concerns
  • operate and drive ground service equipment such as fuel trucks, de-icing trucks, ground power units, tugs, stair trucks
  • load and unload luggage and other cargo into/out of aircraft and from/into the private aviation terminal, guest vehicle, or other mode of transportation
  • provide professional and friendly guest service while exhibiting a positive and helpful attitude
  • offer safe, convenient, and courteous transportation when driving shuttle vehicle to transport guests, luggage, and cargo
  • maintain safe, clean, and secure ramps and operations
  • fuel handling including fuel quality control, fuel receipt, inventory and maintaining accurate related documentation
  • understand, comply with, and enforce all operational, safety, and guest service requirements
  • stop work when unsafe conditions or acts are likely to cause harm and report concerns
  • follow emergency response procedures during critical events
  • understand, comply with, and enforce all security protocols
  • create accurate records pertaining to time worked and activities performed
