Job Description
JSX is a dynamic and innovative air carrier dedicated to transforming the travel experience for its customers. As a company, JSX focuses on providing a seamless, joyful, and simple journey from start to finish, emphasizing superior customer service, reliability, and a safety-first approach. Operating within the aviation and travel industry, JSX caters to a diverse clientele, ensuring every interaction is personalized and efficient. The company prides itself on fostering a culture that values positive attitudes, expertise, integrity, adaptability, engagement, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. JSX is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusivity, creating a supportive environment for all employees.
The role of an Airport Services Concierge (ASC) is a pivotal frontline position within JSX. As one of the first points of contact for customers arriving at the station, the ASC plays a crucial role in delivering an effortless and seamless check-in experience. This includes ensuring the lounge maintains an inviting and well-stocked ambiance with all necessary amenities readily available. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, as the incumbent is responsible for verifying customer documentation, screening baggage, and assessing passengers' fitness to fly. The ASC may also be tasked with valet duties, which encompass driving, parking, and retrieving customer vehicles, as well as assisting customers during their arrival and departure.
This role demands a strong emphasis on punctuality and adherence to strict attendance and appearance standards, reflecting JSX's commitment to professionalism and operational excellence. Physical activity is a routine part of the job, requiring the ability to bend, reach, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift heavy items weighing over 75 pounds. The ASC must be prepared to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, late nights, holidays, and weekends, to accommodate the needs of the travel schedules.
Airport Services Concierges are also trained as Ground Security Coordinators (GSC), responsible for monitoring the operational environment to uphold safety standards and communicating any concerns to leadership promptly. A critical aspect of the role is ensuring compliance with safety alerts, updated procedures, regulatory standards, and local guidance. The ASC must remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings to recognize and act on anything unsafe while maintaining a professional and composed demeanor, especially in high-pressure situations.
The role requires the individual to maintain personal readiness for safety-sensitive duties, proactively identify factors such as fatigue or stress that could impair safety, and remove themselves from duties if necessary. Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements regarding drug and alcohol use is mandatory, alongside participating in initial and random drug and alcohol screenings in line with FAA and DOT guidelines.
The starting compensation for this role is $18.00 per hour, reflecting JSX's investment in quality customer service and operational safety. JSX fosters a culture that encourages employees to display positive attitudes, pursue expertise, act with integrity without compromise on safety or security, embrace challenges with adaptability, stay actively engaged, and always prioritize the customer's needs, whether they are travelers, colleagues, or business partners. The company supports ongoing growth and development among its team members, ensuring they can contribute meaningfully to JSX's mission of being the world's most loved air carrier.
