Job Requirements
- Must possess computer experience of 6 months or more including Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- Able to speak, read, and write English proficiently
- Capable of processing information in a timely manner
- Previous ramp or airline experience required
- Must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment
- Must clear an FBI fingerprint background check
- Must be physically fit to perform duties including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling
- Capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
- Willing to work outside in all types of weather with exposure to loud noises
- Must be able and flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience in supervising a business unit
- Experience in operational planning and resource allocation
- Working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance
- Understanding of commercial aviation issues
- Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
- Basic computer literacy
- Previous ramp or airline experience
- Ability to navigate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclocks
- Valid driver's license
- Successful completion and maintenance of required training and certifications
- Ability to process information quickly
- Clear FBI fingerprint background check
Job Duties
- Establishing shift assignments for fulltime and part-time employees
- Monitoring and ensuring safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment
- Reporting functional and mechanical discrepancies on ground support equipment
- Coordinating with assigned carriers to ensure cargo and baggage services meet airline needs and schedules
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and safe operational status
- Collaborating with other supervisors and managers to coordinate interdepartmental activities
- Determining manpower requirements and managing disciplinary procedures
- Complying with attendance and tardiness standards
- Performing effectively under pressure within fixed time constraints
- Ensuring necessary ground equipment availability for upcoming flights
- Reading and interpreting aircraft weight and balance instructions, hazardous materials labels, loading manifests, and baggage routing tags
- Following all relevant federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier regulations
- Briefing crews before flights about assigned positions and flight operations
- Performing other duties as assigned
