Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in the quality of life services, dedicated to improving the everyday experiences of people through its comprehensive offerings in food services, facilities management, and a range of integrated solutions. With a strong emphasis on social, economic, and environmental progress, Sodexo partners with clients worldwide to deliver exceptional service and create meaningful, memorable experiences for both customers and employees. The company prides itself on its inclusive culture, valuing diversity, respect, and equal employment opportunities, fostering a workplace where everyone can be themselves and thrive. This particular opportunity is based at the UNITED CLUB - HNL, a prominent airport lounge, providing a dynamic and fast-paced environment for hospitality professionals.

The Airport Lounge Wait Staff position at Sodexo offers a part-time role with a competitive hourly wage of $23.75. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for customer service within the hospitality industry, especially in an airport lounge or similar setting. As a member of the UNITED CLUB team, the Wait Staff will engage directly with guests, delivering attentive, efficient, and friendly service to ensure a high-quality lounge experience. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, presenting menus, and introducing daily specials or menu changes. Staff will make knowledgeable recommendations regarding meals, beverages, and wines, answer questions related to menu items, allergens, and preparation methods, and accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen with meticulous attention to detail and proper sequencing.

Monitoring guest needs throughout their visit is a key component of the role, requiring the ability to respond promptly to requests and address any concerns or complaints with professionalism and a service-oriented attitude. Physical demands of the job include significant walking or mobility, standing for extended periods (potentially exceeding eight hours per shift), and the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role also requires good manual dexterity, the ability to taste and smell food and beverages, and the capacity to perform repetitive motions as part of daily tasks.

Sodexo values punctuality and reliability, expecting Wait Staff to attend work consistently and on time for their scheduled shifts. The company also emphasizes opportunities for advancement and professional growth, offering ongoing training and development programs to help employees build careers within Sodexo's extensive global network. Additionally, depending on the location, employees may benefit from site-specific perks such as free or subsidized meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, or parking accommodations.

Overall, this role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a part-time hospitality position in a reputable company committed to employee well-being and career advancement. Sodexo's supportive and flexible work environment encourages a balance between professional responsibilities and life outside of work, making it a great choice for those wanting meaningful work with purpose and impact in the services industry.
