The role of Airport Lounge Cook based at the American Airlines Admirals Club at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) offers a full-time opportunity for individuals eager to contribute to an elite hospitality experience. Working within SodexoMagic, the Airport Lounge Cook is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals with a focus on excellent customer service and teamwork. This position pays $18.75 per hour and requires availability for varying shifts, with a preference for open availability to meet the lounge’s operational needs.

As an Airport Lounge Cook, you will be more than just a cook; you will be a valued team player dedicated to reducing food waste and enhancing guest satisfaction through the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of hot and cold dishes across multiple meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. Your role will involve accurately and efficiently portioning, cooking, and plating food items by following recipes and product instructions to ensure consistency and quality. You may also have opportunities to operate grill stations or serve customers a la carte. Reliability and punctuality are central to success in this role, as is the ability to adapt to different client requirements and business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of high school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of related food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and standard recipes accurately
  • Willingness to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks safely

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
  • May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned which may differ among accounts depending on business necessities and client requirements
