The role currently open is for an Aircraft Cleaner, a vital position within the organization that directly contributes to the timely and efficient turnaround of airplanes. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary condition of aircraft interiors. Duties include cleaning seats, floors, tray tables, and galleys, as well as the critical task of lavatory sanitation and waste disposal. The Aircraft Cleaner also ensures replenishment of essential supplies such as magazines, food, beverages, and liquor onboard to accommodate passenger needs.
In this role, associates will carry cleaning equipment and supplies to the aircraft, perform security inspections within the cabin, and help organize and maintain cabin service storage areas. The Aircraft Cleaner plays an integral role in supporting on-time departures by executing their tasks efficiently and adhering stringently to safety protocols and company policies. Shift work is required, with hours potentially during nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, reflecting the 24/7 nature of the aviation industry.
The position demands physical stamina as employees must lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds regularly, as well as frequently walking, standing, reaching, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and bending. Job Requirements
- Must be able to constantly lift, move up, push, pull up to 70 lbs
- must be able to constantly walk, stand, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, stoop, squat, kneel, and bend
- must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime
- must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must be able to obtain credentials required as per airport or state or customs requirements
Job Duties
- Carry cleaning equipment and supplies to service the aircraft
- clean seats, floors, tray tables, galleys and dispose of trash in designated dumpsters
- clean aircraft lavatories and empty waste receptacles
- restock magazines, food, beverages, liquor, and other supplies aboard the aircraft
- perform aircraft security inspection
- load supplies onto cabin service truck and return to designated area
- keep cabin services supply room organized and ensure adequate supply of items needed to service aircraft
- adhere to all safety procedures and policies
- perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position
- complete work in a safe and secure manner, following company safety and operational standards
- immediately report safety and security incidents as well as potential hazards in line with the Unifi Fair and Just Culture Policy
