The Food and Beverage Operations Manager position at the Virgin Airways Lounges in San Francisco International Airport is an outstanding opportunity within Sodexo Live!’s Airport Lounge Segment. This role is essential for maintaining and elevating the culinary and service standards that the lounge is known for. As Food and Beverage Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage program, including managing the kitchen staff such as cooks and food preparers, bartenders, and food attendants. You will be responsible for ensuring that the lounge delivers an impeccable dining experience through strict adherence to culinary excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will encompass managing food and beverage inventory, ordering, procurement, and ensuring all operations comply with both Sodexo and the airline client’s standards. You will lead training programs to maintain service quality and ensure financial reporting accuracy to support budgetary and strategic objectives. The role demands strong leadership skills to supervise front-of-house, bar, and back-of-house operations, handling the intricacies of a fast-paced environment with agility and professionalism.

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years previous food, beverage and culinary experience within hotels, restaurants or similar upscale hospitality venue
  • oversight of daily food operations and delivering a high-quality product
  • proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word and Excel
  • ability to provide the highest quality of service
  • ability to taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • compliance with all company safety, risk management, and HACCP policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 2 years management experience
  • minimum 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, or mall food courts
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • ability to provide the highest quality of service
  • knowledge of food production planning and inventory requisition
  • compliance with company safety, risk management, and HACCP policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Establishes a safe work environment
  • utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships to ensure account retention
  • implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
  • directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources
  • ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
  • develops and implements plans, projects with defined objectives, methods, timetables, and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
  • ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies
