The Food and Beverage Operations Manager role at the United Airlines Lounge in Raleigh Durham International Airport offers an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about food and beverage management and delivering excellent customer service in a high-paced airport environment. This managerial position is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage program, including culinary preparation, bartending, and food attendant staff. The manager is responsible for ensuring that every detail of the club/lounge operation aligns with Sodexo’s and United Airlines’ high standards.

This includes monitoring culinary operations to maintain superior standards of food quality and taste, overseeing inventory and product ordering processes, and managing training programs for the food and beverage team to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery. Furthermore, the role encompasses financial responsibilities such as budget management and accurate financial reporting, which are essential for maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.

As a manager, you will lead front-of-house (FOH), bar, and back-of-house teams by fostering communication, adaptability, and a positive work environment in what is often a fast-changing and dynamic aviation setting. Emphasis is placed on flexibility to handle daily operational challenges while enhancing the overall guest experience. Job Requirements

  • have 2-3 years previous food, beverage and culinary experience within hotels, restaurants or similar upscale hospitality venue
  • have oversight of daily food operations and deliver a high-quality product
  • proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel
  • provide the highest quality of service
  • taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • comply with all company safety, risk management, and HACCP policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 2 years management experience
  • minimum of 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
  • experience with culinary training and monitoring service standards
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel

Job Duties

  • Establishes a safe work environment
  • utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships to ensure account retention
  • implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
  • directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
  • develops and implements plans, projects with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
  • ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies
