The private Korean Airlines Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) represents a unique and prestigious environment within the airline hospitality sector. It serves as a sanctuary for high-profile travelers seeking relaxation and rejuvenation before their flights. The lounge offers sophisticated buffet-style dining and a self-service beverage program tailored to the discerning tastes of Korean Airlines' clientele. Sodexo is currently seeking an Assistant General Manager for this lounge to lead the Food and Beverage operations and uphold the highest standards of guest service and operational excellence.

This role is perfect for a hospitality professional with a strong food and beverage background, ideally with experience in airports, hotels, restaurants, or similar upscale venues. The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in overseeing daily food operations, ensuring that every guest receives an exceptional experience. The successful candidate will help meet financial targets, build relationships with clients and guests, and motivate and develop frontline employees. A unique aspect of this role is the preference for a manager who can speak Korean, reflecting the clientele and enhancing the service experience.

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for implementing Sodexo's standards and ensuring compliance with company policies and client expectations. Job Requirements

  • Work history demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization
  • 2-3 years experience as a manager with a recognized concept or company
  • Korean language strongly preferred
  • must be able to pass a TSA background check
  • ability to manage multiple priorities
  • professional communication skills
  • passion for high-level customer service
  • flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems as well as menu graphics programs
  • experience in financials, preparation and oversight

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of management experience
  • 1 year of food or culinary services experience including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
  • ability to manage multiple priorities
