- High school diploma or GED preferred
- six months demonstrated customer service related work experience required
- must successfully complete a training program provided by the Environmental Services Department and achieve competence in all duties

Job Duties
- Follows department procedures related to cleaning and operations to ensure a safe and clean environment in all areas
- responsible for reporting to work on time properly completing the time card in uniform and ready to work as observed by supervisor
- performs various trash removal duties to maintain cleanliness and appearance
- insures that all trash bins are cleaned regularly with no more than one discrepancy per week as observed by supervisor
- operates electric tow tractors and scooters ensuring safe operation at all times
- operates electric tow tractors used in the transportation of either trash RMW or recycling observing vehicle safety procedures at all times as observed by supervisor
- works towards team objectives to provide quality service throughout the hospital and initiates activities and behaviors in support of YNHHs mission and values
- demonstrates willingness to perform functions or tasks that may not be in the formal job description
- demonstrates critical thinking necessary to problem solving
- collects data relevant to the problem and provides suggestions or new approaches to the issue
- performs various project floor care duties to improve appearance of floors
