The position of housekeeper at Cardinal Ritter Senior Services plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall hygiene of the facility. This full-time, hourly role involves working weekends and night shifts, ensuring that key areas such as resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, spas, bathrooms, and offices are kept in pristine condition. The housekeeper is expected to follow standard procedures set by the Environmental Services Department, adhering to the facility’s objectives while performing cleaning tasks. Daily responsibilities include dusting, vacuuming carpets, damp-wiping furniture, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, and replenishing room supplies. Attention to detail and thoroughness are essential, especially when maintaining infection control standards, hand hygiene protocols, and enhanced barrier precautions.

This role requires a dependable individual who is capable of performing physical and mental tasks essential to the job. The housekeeper will also be responsible for spotting and cleaning emergency spills, maintaining cleaning equipment, and notifying supervisors of any necessary repairs. In case of emergencies such as fires or community disasters, the housekeeper must be ready to perform additional duties as assigned. Daily checklists must be completed to verify that assigned duties are fully accomplished. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Duties

  • Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods
  • dusts surfaces
  • empties wastebaskets
  • damp-wipes clean all furniture
  • vacuums carpets for cleaning and bacteria control
  • cleans and polishes metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms
  • dust mops and wet mops floors of rooms and offices
  • spot cleans walls, windows and polishes metal surfaces
  • replenishes room supplies
  • cleans beds and performs checkout cleaning as assigned
  • spot cleans carpets as assigned
  • assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or on request
  • maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when needed
  • observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
  • in case of fire or other internal disaster or community disaster, performs duties as assigned
  • completes supplied checklists daily for verification of completion of assigned duties
  • performs other duties as assigned
