Job Duties
- Greets patients assessing their needs and directing them appropriately
- answers phones by the third ring taking and passing along accurate messages
- inquires who is calling before transferring a call
- maintains a courteous and professional attitude
- answers routine scheduling and patient preparation questions
- prepares patient exam requests, identifies exams and attaches necessary forms
- schedules cases to coordinate with other patient exams
- provides necessary forms to patients and assists with completion
- keeps reception area clean and organized
- never leaves front desk without notifying personnel and getting coverage
- provides clerical support to the department
- ensures all charge slips are present by end of shift
- types a variety of hospital forms and cards
- assists with signing out films and fills out proper forms
- contacts departmental personnel if a patient’s condition changes or patient states difficulty
- follows guidelines in Environmental Health and Safety Manual and SDS manual
- informs Manager of unsafe conditions or equipment
- participates in hospital education classes, departmental in-services and staff meetings
- participates in continuous improvement process
