Job Description

AHC Hospitality is a distinguished hospitality company renowned for its expansive portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and resorts. This esteemed organization operates a diverse selection of properties including the Amway Grand Plaza, JW Marriott Grand Rapids, AC Hotel by Marriott, and Courtyard by Marriott Downtown. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences that resonate across every interaction, whether it's hosting a large meeting, serving an intimate dinner, or crafting an elegant ambiance for relaxation and enjoyment. AHC Hospitality is committed to fostering an environment where employees can thrive and grow, investing in their professional development and recognizing their success as a key element of the company's achievements.

The company offers a range of employment opportunities that cater to various personality types and career goals, emphasizing a culture of inclusivity and professional growth. The role available is a full-time position based at one of AHC Hospitality's prestigious properties, requiring weekend availability to meet the dynamic needs of its clientele. Employees in this role benefit from comprehensive packages including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401K retirement plans, paid vacation, discounted parking in downtown locations, complimentary employee meals, and exclusive discounts on hotel and restaurant services.

This position focuses on serving guests at the spa desk or reception area, providing a high level of service in line with JW Marriott and Amway Grand Plaza standards of hospitality. The role demands efficiency, courtesy, and professionalism, with a strong emphasis on "aggressive hospitality" — actively engaging guests with warmth and enthusiasm to ensure their needs are anticipated and met. Responsibilities include managing appointment bookings, answering guest inquiries about spa products and services, and ensuring smooth check-out and payment processes. Maintaining an organized and clean workspace is crucial to delivering prompt and courteous service. The associate must embody professionalism at all times, acting as a goodwill ambassador who represents the company’s commitment to guest satisfaction.

Additional duties include preparing standard reports related to help desk incidents, adhering strictly to hotel policies and procedures, and practicing safety protocols by reporting unsafe conditions. A positive attitude, teamwork, punctuality, and adherence to grooming standards are fundamental to success in this role. Flexibility is required as employees may be expected to open or close shifts and perform other duties as assigned by management. Physical demands of the job include standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, requiring associates to maintain both stamina and attentiveness while on duty. This opportunity at AHC Hospitality is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or GED who possess a passion for customer service and a desire to grow in the hospitality industry. The compensation for this role is $16.75 per hour, reflecting the company's commitment to rewarding dedicated and skilled team members.
