Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, in addition to hardgoods and related products. It is also recognized as one of the largest suppliers of safety products and a prominent supplier of ammonia products and process chemicals in the United States. With a dedicated team of approximately 18,000 associates nationwide, Airgas fosters a workplace culture grounded in safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader present in 60 countries with over 66,500 employees, Airgas serves more than 4 million customers and patients, reflecting a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction across diverse sectors.

The AG-Driver position based in Peoria, AZ, entails operating heavy-duty vehicles, including up to 20-ton trucks and tractor-trailer combinations, to deliver compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and hard goods. This role is vital in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of products to customers along scheduled routes. The responsibilities span loading and unloading the truck, changing out empty cylinders, connecting full cylinders safely at customer sites, and picking up empties. Drivers are expected to maintain accurate delivery records, obtain necessary signatures, and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. A key aspect also involves pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to document any operational deficiencies and ensure safety requirements are met.

Safety is paramount in this role, requiring strict adherence to company policies and the use of personal protective equipment. Drivers must exercise good judgment when evaluating the safety of delivery sites and demonstrate proactive communication to resolve service inquiries or complaints. Additional duties include operating forklifts or pallet jacks in warehouse settings to support loads, performing cryogenic dewar fills following FDA requirements, and delivering bulk liquids and gases safely. The job demands flexible hours to meet delivery schedules, meticulous documentation in line with DOT and company policies, and a professional appearance at all times.

Beyond the logistical tasks, this position also includes customer interaction, handling payments, supporting inventory maintenance, stocking merchandise, and occasionally processing orders via SAP software. The AG-Driver is a representative of Airgas’s commitment to safety, quality, and customer service, contributing significantly to the company’s operational success and reputation.

This is a full-time employment opportunity, offering a competitive compensation package alongside comprehensive benefits. Airgas is dedicated to cultivating a diverse workforce where every employee’s contributions are valued. Employees benefit from a supportive environment designed to help them grow professionally and personally while making a tangible impact in their roles. The company’s inclusive approach welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, emphasizing equal opportunity in hiring and career development.
