Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a prominent supplier based in the United States providing industrial, medical, and specialty gases alongside hardgoods and related products. As one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products and a key provider of ammonia products and process chemicals, Airgas operates with a dedicated team of approximately 18,000 associates. The company cultivates a culture emphasizing safety, customer success, innovation, and sustainability. Being a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader present in 60 countries with over 66,500 employees, Airgas benefits from deep industrial expertise and expansive resources. Airgas serves a vast clientele of over 4 million customers and patients across various sectors.

The company prides itself on fostering a workplace environment where employees are empowered to take initiative, make decisions, and share innovative ideas freely, helping them grow professionally and personally. Airgas's commitment to diversity and inclusion creates a welcoming atmosphere that values individuals for who they are and supports them in reaching their full potential.

The role of the Class B Delivery Driver at Airgas in Spokane, Washington, is central to the company’s logistical operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders and bulk liquid products to local and regional customers. This position entails using company-provided vehicles such as tractor-trailers, straight trucks, or box trucks to transport products from Airgas branches or plants directly to business customers. The driver is responsible for the complete delivery cycle—loading, unloading, delivering, and returning gas cylinders—and must maintain excellent customer relations throughout.

In addition to customer interaction, the delivery driver is required to adhere strictly to company safety policies and use personal protective equipment at all times. The role demands a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reporting any issues immediately. Safety is a top priority, including compliance with traffic rules and drug-free workplace standards.

This position requires working under deadlines independently and sometimes under pressure, managing timely and clear communication with managers and sales personnel regarding order changes or delivery issues. Drivers must keep delivery paperwork accurately completed and vehicles clean and orderly. They may also be called upon to perform on-call delivery duties during weekdays, after hours, and weekends. The role is well-suited to individuals who are responsible, safety-conscious, and personable, capable of working with diverse customers and team members.

Airgas offers its drivers comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for career growth within a supportive and innovative company. This role is essential to Airgas’s commitment to delivering quality products safely and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.
