Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with hardgoods and related products. The company is recognized as one of the largest safety product suppliers and a primary U.S. provider of ammonia products and process chemicals. With a workforce of 18,000 associates, Airgas promotes a culture that prioritizes safety, customer satisfaction, sustainability, and innovation. The company empowers its associates to share ideas, take initiatives, and make decisions, enabling a collaborative and dynamic workplace. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader in gases, technologies, and services, Airgas benefits from a worldwide presence in 60 countries with 66,500 employees, serving over 4 million customers and patients worldwide.

In this role based in Peoria, AZ, you will serve as an AG-Driver operating a truck up to 20 tons loaded with compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and hardgoods for scheduled route deliveries. This full-time driver position focuses on delivering industrial gases and related products safely and efficiently to customers, requiring a Class A commercial driver’s license with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements and a clean driving record. The AG-Driver is responsible not only for driving but also for loading and unloading trucks, changing out empty cylinders, connecting full cylinders at customer sites safely, and picking up empty cylinders. Customers depend on timely delivery and professional service, so this position demands excellent customer service skills and adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Additional responsibilities involve operating tractor-trailer combinations for long-distance deliveries, off-loading gases safely at customer or storage locations, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries, pick-ups, and payments. Drivers perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any defects. They use onboard computer systems to maintain data accuracy and adhere to company safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment. This role also requires flexibility to work extra hours when necessary to complete deliveries within scheduled times.

Besides the driving tasks, the AG-Driver supports warehouse operations by stock management, order pulling, and operating forklifts or pallet jacks as needed. Communication with customers, sales staff, and managers is integral to this position, making sure that all delivery and order-related information is up-to-date and clearly conveyed. The job promotes a professional appearance and courteous behavior while representing Airgas in the community.

Airgas offers an inclusive workplace committed to diversity and equal opportunity for all qualified applicants regardless of race, gender, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics. The company values its employees and supports their growth through comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career advancement. Working here means being part of a team dedicated to innovation and sustainability, where your contributions have a direct impact on customer success and operational excellence. This job provides not just a paycheck but a stable, rewarding career path in a respected industry with a company that cares about its people and communities.
