Job Description

iCAMP is an innovative educational organization dedicated to fostering curiosity and learning among children through its engaging and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs. Focused on after school enrichment, iCAMP offers specialized classes that ignite students' passions in cutting-edge areas such as Lego robotics, coding, circuitry, and game design. As a reputable provider of quality education in the Washington, DC area, iCAMP emphasizes creating a supportive and inclusive environment where young learners can explore technology and science in a fun and interactive manner.

The company is currently seeking passionate and engaging part-time teachers and tutors to lead their in-person STEAM after school classes. These instructors play a vital role in shaping children's educational experiences by delivering well-structured lesson plans and fostering a love for STEAM subjects. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about teaching and have experience working with children, with a preference for those who possess some background in STEAM or technology. iCAMP acknowledges the importance of professional growth and offers comprehensive training and continuous support to ensure instructors are confident and effective in the classroom.

This part-time position requires availability typically from Monday to Friday, between 2 pm and 6 pm, with occasional weekend hours. Teachers can expect to work approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, earning an hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $30.00. The role includes paid pre-class preparation and paid training sessions, reinforcing iCAMP's commitment to instructor development.

Joining iCAMP means becoming part of a community that values learning and growth. Teachers will develop critical skills in teaching and classroom management, explore new interests such as robotics and coding, and gain a classroom management certificate. iCAMP fosters a supportive environment by providing complete lesson plans, teaching materials, and an office equipped with food and refreshments to enhance the working experience.

Instructors will be responsible for delivering engaging STEAM content that captivates and educates students, reviewing and internalizing lesson plans, preparing for upcoming classes weekly, and attending mandatory training sessions. Additionally, they may occasionally assist in procuring materials needed for lessons. The company encourages a collaborative approach, allowing teachers to be proactive in their role while benefiting from structured guidance and ongoing resources.

iCAMP's dedication to professional development ensures that instructors not only improve their educational skills but also enhance their resumes with valuable teaching experience and credentials. This opportunity is well-suited for individuals who enjoy working with children, are comfortable integrating technology into learning, and are looking for a rewarding part-time role in an educational setting that champions creativity and innovation.
