Job Description

KBR is a leading global provider of integrated services and solutions, specializing in supporting the defense, energy, and industrial sectors. With extensive experience in delivering critical mission support, KBR partners with government and commercial clients to enhance operational capabilities and ensure efficient, effective service delivery. The company is renowned for its commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, offering comprehensive support services that include facility management, engineering, logistics, and food service operations. \n\nUnder the AFCAP V Program, KBR provides essential Dining Facility (DFAC) Services to the U.S. Air Force 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron (EFSS) at Al Dhafra Air Base (ADAB). This program encompasses mission-critical food service operations, equipment maintenance, sanitation, and hood and duct cleaning — all crucial to sustaining base operations. Beyond food service, KBR supports base activities through engineering, vehicle leasing, power production, and quality-of-life solutions, underscoring its role as a comprehensive base operations support contractor. \n\nThe role of the DFAC Site Manager is integral to the successful execution of these services. The Site Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and operational management of the DFAC at ADAB, ensuring compliance with stringent U.S. Air Force standards, AFCAP contractual requirements, and relevant host nation regulations. The position demands a high level of expertise in food service management, equipment maintenance, sanitation, and safety protocols. As the on-site authority, the Site Manager directs a diverse workforce comprising U.S. nationals, local nationals, and other contractors, fostering teamwork and accountability to meet demanding operational objectives. \n\nThis full-time position requires the Site Manager to oversee all aspects of the facility’s operations, from scheduling and staffing to food preparation and serving, ensuring that all tasks meet quality, safety, and customer service standards. The role also involves managing equipment maintenance programs with defined timelines for routine and emergency repairs, upholding fire and safety regulations related to hood and duct systems, and implementing rigorous sanitation controls consistent with Tri-Service Food Code and Air Force guidelines. \n\nFurthermore, the Site Manager serves as a critical liaison among 380th EFSS leadership, contract oversight representatives, and mission partners to align the DFAC’s operations with evolving mission demands. This includes managing inventory and supply chains to maintain necessary food stocks, responding promptly to operational deficiencies, and leading surge and special feeding operations during mission fluctuations. The Manager is also accountable for Government Furnished Property (GFP), ensuring proper inspections, documentation, and 100 percent accountability of personnel, equipment, and operational compliance in accordance with AFCAP and installation standards. \n\nThis position requires a U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Candidates must bring extensive experience in managing large-scale dining operations, particularly in austere or deployed environments, and possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of government contracting programs such as AFCAP or LOGCAP is highly advantageous. Preferred qualifications include prior support of U.S. Air Force operations, contingency experience within CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR), familiarity with AFCAP reporting and property management processes, and certifications such as the ServSafe Manager or equivalent. \n\nKBR offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage, life and disability insurance, 401k with company match, paid time off, flexible spending accounts, and career development opportunities through professional training and advancement programs. This role offers a unique chance to contribute meaningfully to U.S. Air Force mission support in a dynamic operational environment while advancing one’s career with a respected industry leader.
