This specific job opportunity is part of the AFCAP V Program where KBR supports the U.S. Air Force by delivering essential Dining Facility (DFAC) services to the 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron (EFSS) at Al Dhafra Air Base. The program encompasses not only food service but also equipment maintenance, engineering support, leasing, and quality-of-life enhancements that sustain base operations within the AFCENT Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The role is a full-time position designated as Food Service Supervisor with a requirement for a Secret Clearance, underscoring the sensitive nature of the environment and the critical mission support it provides. The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the frontline day-to-day supervision and management of dining facility operations. This role involves ensuring food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety standards meet rigorous Air Force and AFCAP regulations. The supervisor leads a diverse team inclusive of cooks, food service workers, and support personnel, making sure that operations run smoothly and efficiently even under high-tempo and surge conditions common to deployed environments.

This position demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a multicultural workforce including U.S. Navy (USN), local nationals (LN), and other contracted personnel (OCN). The supervisor is accountable for maintaining a zero-harm workplace by strictly enforcing safety and sanitation protocols. Additional responsibilities include overseeing meal preparation to meet demand without excess waste, monitoring food quality and presentation, ensuring proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment, supporting inventory control, and responding promptly to customer concerns.

The supervisor also plays a vital role in coordinating with maintenance teams to track equipment repairs and ensures operational readiness through thorough pre- and post-meal inspections. They are instrumental in enforcing policies that restrict unauthorized activities in food service areas to uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Ideal candidates bring 3-5 years of experience in food service operations, including 1-2 years in supervisory roles within food service or hospitality fields. Experience in fast-paced environments and knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices are critical. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with U.S. military DFAC operations, AFCAP or LOGCAP contract environments, ServSafe or equivalent certification, and experience in deployed or austere conditions, particularly within the Central Command (CENTCOM) AOR.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Maintain a zero harm workplace enforcing all safety food safety and sanitation standards
  • provide direct supervision of DFAC staff during assigned shifts including cooks food service workers and support personnel
  • execute daily meal service operations ensuring timely preparation serving and replenishment of food items
  • ensure compliance with food safety standards including proper food handling storage temperature control and contamination prevention
  • monitor and enforce sanitation and cleanliness standards across kitchen serving lines dining areas and storage spaces
  • oversee serving line operations ensuring efficient customer flow and meeting required service throughput standards
  • conduct pre- and post-meal inspections ensuring readiness prior to service and proper closeout after operations
  • ensure proper execution of batch cooking and food preparation processes to meet demand without waste
  • monitor food quality and presentation reporting any discrepancies or concerns immediately
  • supervise equipment use and cleaning ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and sanitized
  • coordinate with maintenance personnel to report and track equipment repairs and deficiencies
  • ensure accountability of assigned personnel including attendance performance and adherence to standards
  • support inventory control and stockage management ensuring adequate supplies are available at all times
  • respond to customer concerns and ensure timely resolution of service issues
  • enforce policies prohibiting unauthorized activities such as use of personal devices in food service areas
  • support special events surge operations and contingency feeding requirements
