Job Description

KBR is a global leader in engineering, construction, and support services, delivering innovative solutions to clients across various sectors including defense, energy, and government services. As part of its commitment to supporting U.S. military operations worldwide, KBR operates under the AFCAP V Program, providing vital services to improve base operations and quality of life for deployed personnel. Specifically, KBR supports the U.S. Air Force by delivering comprehensive Dining Facility (DFAC) Services to the 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron (EFSS) at Al Dhafra Air Base. This contribution is crucial in ensuring mission readiness and operational success within the AFCENT Area of Responsibility (AOR).

KBR’s scope under this program goes beyond just food service; it includes DFAC equipment maintenance and repair, sanitation and ventilation system management, engineering support, non-tactical vehicle leasing, power production, base operations support, and various quality-of-life offerings to sustain base operations effectively. This multifaceted approach highlights KBR’s dedication to providing holistic support to military installations in challenging environments.

The role of Food Service Supervisor at Al Dhafra Air Base is an essential leadership position within KBR’s AFCAP V program. This is a full-time position requiring an active Secret security clearance, suitable for candidates who have a strong background in food service management within high-tempo military or similar deployed environments. The Food Service Supervisor provides frontline supervision and oversight for daily dining facility operations, ensuring that all aspects of meal preparation, sanitation, customer service, and equipment management meet or exceed U.S. Air Force standards, AFCAP requirements, and food safety regulations.

This role requires someone capable of leading a diverse workforce, including local nationals, U.S. Navy personnel, and other coalition members, in delivering high-quality, efficient meal service in both steady-state and surge operational conditions. The supervisor ensures all food handling practices comply with strict safety and sanitation protocols, promotes a zero-harm workplace culture, and handles operational challenges such as batch cooking, supply management, and equipment maintenance coordination.

In addition to operational leadership, the Food Service Supervisor actively monitors food quality and presentation, performs pre- and post-meal inspections, and maintains the smooth flow of the dining line to meet customer demands. The individual in this role is also responsible for accountability of personnel in terms of attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies, including security and unauthorized activity prevention.

Ideal candidates will bring a minimum of three to five years of food service operational experience, with at least one to two years in a supervisory role within food service or hospitality environments. Experience working in high-demand or deployed military settings is highly preferred, along with certifications like ServSafe or equivalent. Effective communication, strong leadership qualities, and organizational aptitude are crucial to succeed in this dynamic environment.

KBR provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports work-life balance, career growth, and employee well-being. These benefits typically include competitive 401(k) plans with company matching, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, and flexibility in work scheduling. The company also emphasizes professional development through ongoing training to foster career advancement.

Overall, the Food Service Supervisor position at KBR under the AFCAP V contract offers an opportunity to contribute to a critical support function within the U.S. Air Force mission while working with a reputable global enterprise committed to operational excellence, employee safety, and community engagement.
