Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is a prominent leader in the defense and scientific technology sector, engineering an extensive portfolio of cutting-edge solutions, products, and services that empower customers to successfully carry out missions across every domain of operation. With a global workforce of over 12,000 highly skilled professionals, GDMS collaborates closely with the best in the industry to push the boundaries of innovation. The company is built on core values such as trust, honesty, alignment, and transparency, fostering a culture that prizes integrity and mutual respect among its employees. GDMS is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging work environment where contributions are valued, and career growth is encouraged through ongoing learning and professional development opportunities. Employees enjoy competitive benefits, a flexible work environment, and rewarding experiences that recognize their impact in national security and defense.
The position of I&T (Integration and Test) Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems offers an exciting and impactful role within a cross-functional team focused on building software and platforms that support critical missions, especially in the Space and Intelligence domains. This role requires a candidate with a strong software background, ideally with experience working on large-scale solution programs within the Department of Defense (DoD) context. Candidates with domain knowledge, particularly related to Space and Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) systems, are highly preferred. The role involves designing, integrating, testing, deploying, and improving software services in an agile Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment.
Essential responsibilities include developing and participating in Quality Assurance (QA) and testing approaches, performing automated and manual tests on applications, qualifying new features across various platforms, and applying engineering standards throughout the software development lifecycle. The I&T Engineer is expected to be intellectually curious, motivated, and collaborative, supporting a strong technical culture while delivering superior user-centered software solutions. This position requires a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance at hiring and U.S. citizenship, due to the nature of the sensitive work performed.
The position offers a flexible work schedule with 3-4 days per week onsite in Boulder, Colorado, along with a competitive salary range of $111,123 to $123,278 per year. Additional incentives such as sign-on bonuses and relocation benefits are also available. The role encourages candidates to bring creativity, leadership, and exceptional communication skills to meet complex defense program requirements and contribute to mission-critical initiatives. The company values individuals who are proactive in their professional growth and interested in advancing cutting-edge defense technologies while working alongside award-winning teams devoted to national security.
