The role of Advanced Systems Admin Specialist at GDMS involves critical contributions to the management and administration of secure computational infrastructures that support the nation’s cyber defense initiatives. This position is based onsite at the McLeansville, NC location and requires a Department of Defense Secret clearance at the time of hire due to the sensitive nature of the work. The applicant must also meet stringent eligibility requirements concerning classified information access.

As an Advanced Systems Admin Specialist, you will be responsible for the daily administration and upkeep of both physical and virtual secure system infrastructures throughout GDMS. You will lend your expertise in designing, building, developing, and testing new system infrastructure solutions as part of a collaborative engineering team. This role demands hands-on involvement with system performance monitoring, vulnerability scanning, system remediation, and applying security patches on operations systems and vendor software across servers and network devices, ensuring systems remain current and compliant with evolving cyber security standards. You will also manage antivirus updates and conduct general administrative duties such as maintaining system availability, overseeing backup solutions, and implementing robust security measures.

This role requires an experienced professional with advanced technical expertise in various technologies including RedHat Linux, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, as well as familiarity with compliance control frameworks such as STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, NIST standards, and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving capabilities, detailed knowledge of networking concepts, backup and disaster recovery procedures, and a solid grasp of change management processes.

In addition to technical prowess, the individual will have the opportunity to incorporate emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native solutions, and Quantum Physics technologies into their workflow, driving innovation and improvement within the cybersecurity domain. Proficiency in developer tools and scripting languages like JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Docker, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and Bash is highly desirable and considered an asset.

This career opportunity offers a competitive salary range of USD $111,881.00 to USD $121,059.00 per year, reflecting the candidate’s experience and relevant factors.
