Job Description

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its members. Representing over 1,100 members from the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes, RSIC honors traditional teachings and cultural heritage while embracing modern business practices and governance. Located in beautiful Reno, Nevada, the RSIC governs land including a 28-acre Colony and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley set within the scenic Eagle Canyon region. Employing over 300 individuals, including more than 150 tribal members, the organization fosters a professional work environment that supports talent, motivation, and career development. The role of Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) at Reno-Sparks Indian Colony is a rewarding full-time position pivotal to delivering comprehensive primary care to the community. This onsite role is designed for a healthcare professional with a Master's Degree in Nursing, who will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to provide quality outpatient care focused on health promotion, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The position requires commitment to culturally appropriate, holistic care tailored to patients of all ages within the unique cultural environment of the RSIC. Candidates are expected to manage stable chronic conditions, conduct diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, perform office procedures, and make appropriate physician referrals while upholding high standards of patient safety and care. The practice will emphasize community engagement and advocacy, directly impacting the overall health outcomes of this vibrant tribal population. Compensation ranges between $111,904 and $137,627.81 annually, commensurate with experience, complemented by comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and paid time off. Job Requirements

  • Master degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Possess current state license as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner
  • Minimum three years experience in outpatient or ambulatory care clinic setting
  • Acquire and maintain ACLS certification within 180 days of hire
  • Free from exclusion from providing federal healthcare benefits
  • Submit to annual TB skin testing and immunization policy
  • Knowledge of diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic medical care
  • Knowledge of exposure control and bloodborne pathogen protocols
  • Ability to work with electronic health records and software
  • Ability to communicate data clearly and effectively
  • Ability to prioritize and shift priorities in changing environments
  • Knowledge of cultural differences of Native American populations
  • Ability to perform physical activity regularly
  • Eligibility for RSIC Vehicle Insurance program
  • Pass a background check

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Current State License as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of three years experience in outpatient or ambulatory care
  • Ability to acquire and maintain ACLS certification
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Cultural competency with Native American populations

Job Duties
