Job Description
UCHealth is a renowned healthcare system dedicated to improving lives through excellent patient care, innovative practices, and comprehensive health services. The organization has grown to become a trusted name in the medical community, serving numerous patients across Colorado and offering a wide array of specialized healthcare programs. UCHealth Greeley Hospital, located in Greeley, Colorado, is part of this influential network and delivers acute care services with a commitment to patient wellness, safety, and quality outcomes. The facility supports a dynamic team environment where medical professionals collaborate for optimal patient-centered care. UCHealth's culture focuses on fostering professional growth, diversity, and well-being for its employees while maintaining cutting-edge clinical standards.
The Advanced Care Partner (ACP) role at UCHealth Greeley Hospital is a vital specialized position designed specifically for nursing (RN) students either enrolled in or having completed their Med/Surg I program or equivalent. Functionally, this role builds upon the foundational skills of Patient Care Assistants and Nurse Aides, effectively serving as a paid nurse internship. As an ACP, you will provide direct patient care under the delegation or supervision of a registered nurse or healthcare provider, contributing significantly to patient safety, comfort, and recovery in a fast-paced acute care environment. This position is located onsite, catering to the night shift within the GH 4th Floor Acute Care department, operating on a PRN basis with zero guarantee of hours per pay period.
Compensation for the ACP role ranges from $19.10 to $24.83 per hour, depending on the applicant's experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include gathering vital signs, measuring blood glucose levels, performing sterile dressing changes, starting peripheral intravenous lines, and monitoring intake and output. Additional duties involve assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, supporting progressive mobility, and maintaining an orderly and stocked care area. ACPs are also encouraged to embrace new knowledge, collaborate with ancillary team members, and model proficiency by precepting new healthcare employees or interns.
UCHealth places a high value on its employees as its greatest asset, offering a comprehensive total rewards program that supports professional success and personal well-being. The culture thrives on recognition through performance bonuses, merit pay increases, and market-aligned compensation reviews. Employees benefit from extensive health and wellness coverage including medical, dental, vision, and mental health support. There are additional perks such as discounted fitness memberships, voluntary insurance benefits, and paid time off including family and medical leave. Retirement savings plans with employer matching, flexible spending accounts, and opportunities for educational advancement further enhance career growth.
This position is an excellent opportunity for nursing students seeking hands-on clinical experience and a pathway into a professional nursing career within a supportive, resource-rich environment. UCHealth fosters diversity and equal opportunity in employment and is committed to providing accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. Joining UCHealth means contributing to a team that improves lives in significant and meaningful ways through compassionate care and innovative medical practices.
