Job Description
Publix Super Markets Inc. is a renowned employee-owned American supermarket chain that has established a strong reputation for quality customer service, community involvement, and a commitment to excellence. Headquartered in Lakeland, Florida, Publix operates numerous stores across the southeastern United States, serving millions of customers each week with fresh, high-quality products and a friendly, professional shopping experience. The company is known for treating its associates with respect and offering extensive career development opportunities, making it an employer of choice within the retail industry.
This posting is for a key administrative role within one of Publix's manufacturing plants. The Administrative Supervisor position is vital to the smooth operation of plant administrative and HR functions. Responsible for overseeing daily administrative activities, this role demands a leader who is organized, capable of managing a team, and dedicated to executing Corporate and Manufacturing policies with precision and care. The Administrative Supervisor will handle staffing, training, development, and performance evaluations for their direct reports, ensuring the team operates efficiently and maintains high morale.
Additionally, this position requires managing payroll processes timely and accurately, coordinating closely with the Time Administrator to handle time-off requests, approval systems, and serve as a backup when necessary. As a liaison between the plant and corporate offices, the Administrative Supervisor will interpret company policies, communicate updates, and provide vital HR data and reports to management and Corporate Manufacturing teams. The role also involves acting as a central contact point for industrial operations staff and other Publix departments on HR and administrative matters.
This position plays a critical role in employee engagement initiatives, coordinating biometric surveys and the biannual manufacturing performance evaluation for plant associates. The role includes driving process improvements within the administrative functions and assisting with general plant management projects that contribute to overall plant success. Conducting new associate orientations to foster employee integration and commitment to Publix values is an important aspect of this job.
Ideal candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, and a proactive attitude towards learning and problem-solving. They must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access), and familiarity with Publix-specific systems such as TPASS, TOR, and KRONOS. Experience in office management and knowledge of Publix Manufacturing policies are desirable assets, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
The role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic supervisory position where their contributions directly impact the efficiency and culture of a vital manufacturing plant. Publix values dedication, initiative, and pride in work, offering a supportive environment to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to one of the leading retail brands in the nation. This full-time position may require flexible working hours, including potential overtime, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the essential nature of manufacturing operations. Compensation details are competitive and commensurate with experience, underscoring the company’s commitment to attracting top talent.
