The Front Desk Receptionist role is a pivotal frontline position responsible for greeting patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and helpfully. The individual in this role manages a variety of crucial tasks, such as verifying patient appointments, printing necessary paperwork, and directing patients efficiently to the registration area. Additionally, the receptionist is the first point of contact for incoming phone calls, tasked with answering, screening, and directing them professionally to appropriate personnel or paging accordingly. Responsibilities also include assisting with payment collection from walk-in patients, handling the front desk cash box, and ensuring the clinic is opened and closed as necessary. Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the front desk and lobby area is essential to create a welcoming environment. The role demands strict adherence to confidentiality policies and requires the receptionist to be organized, timely, professional, and capable of thriving under the stress of a busy medical setting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Prefer one year’s work experience in a medical office setting
- General office knowledge
- Computer experience

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prefer one year’s work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- General office knowledge preferably in a medical office setting
- Computer experience
- Multi-line phone experience preferred
- Knowledge of billing office and procedures
- Knowledge of radiology exams to provide information to patients, physicians, vendors, and staff
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine
- Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone pleasantly
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians, and the public
Job Duties
- Greets patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
- Verifies patient appointments, prints paperwork and directs patients to registration
- Answers incoming calls, screens and directs calls to appropriate personnel or pages
- Assists with receiving and logging payments from walk-in patients
- Can be responsible for opening or closing the clinic
- Tracks timeliness of patient arrival
- Maintains work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner
- Maintains strictest confidentiality
- Registers patients as needed
- Responsible for front desk cash box
- Orders front desk office supplies
- Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned
