Job Description
Athletes in Action is the sports ministry of Cru, dedicated to seeing Christ-followers on every team, in every sport, in every nation. Located on a sprawling 250-acre athletic complex in Xenia, OH, this vibrant organization hosts a variety of events including local, regional, and international sports tournaments, summer camps, leadership gatherings, and banquets. Each event is a unique opportunity to serve people, create lasting memories, and impact lives for God’s Kingdom through excellent hospitality and organization. The environment values teamwork, flexibility, and a strong sense of community rooted in Christian values.
This part-time role, starting at $14 per hour with flexible hours amounting to 10-15 hours per week, is perfectly suited for highly organized, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in dynamic settings where no two days are alike. The role is on-site in Xenia, OH, placing you at the heart of live event execution and administrative support within a fast-paced and mission-driven sports ministry context. As a key team member of the Sports Complex Resource Center (SCRC), you will provide essential administrative assistance including data entry, file management, and client communication to ensure smooth operations. Your responsibilities will also encompass event coordination and on-site support, welcoming guests and group directors, and managing detailed checklists and communication protocols. In addition, you will contribute to maintaining a safe environment by observing and reporting facility needs and providing basic first aid as needed, including administering CPR or AED if necessary.
Your role will also include assisting with food preparation and service during events, showcasing your flexibility and readiness to support various logistical needs. Working variable hours, including evenings and weekends, you will exemplify teamwork and a positive attitude while helping to create an atmosphere of calm and order. Beyond operational tasks, this position encourages personal and spiritual development through participation in the Staff Development process and setting personal growth goals. Modeling personal spiritual discipline and supporting the spiritual growth of the team is also a valued aspect of this role.
This job is ideal for individuals who are comfortable following direction while also taking initiative, adept at multitasking and managing competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency. You will play a vital behind-the-scenes role while engaging directly with event participants and guests, balancing front-line hospitality with critical support duties. If you seek a part-time position that blends administration, event coordination, team collaboration, and ministry impact, this position at Athletes in Action offers a rewarding and meaningful opportunity to contribute to sports ministry and community engagement in Xenia, Ohio.
