Job Description
Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY (HOACNY) is a well-established and highly regarded healthcare provider specializing in cancer care services throughout Central New York. Recognized as one of Central New York’s Best Places to Work, HOACNY is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality oncology care across three convenient locations in East Syracuse, Syracuse, and Auburn. The organization prides itself on its patient-centered approach, offering advanced treatment options with a supportive and professional team environment. HOACNY operates Monday through Friday during day hours, ensuring consistent access to cancer care for patients in the region.
The position available is for a full-time Medical Receptionist to join the radiation oncology team, playing an essential role in supporting clinical operations and enhancing patient experience. This role involves performing key administrative duties for radiation oncology physicians and other clinical staff, focusing on smooth office operations and effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. The Medical Receptionist acts as a vital point of contact within the organization, helping to manage patient interactions and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
A unique aspect of this position is the travel requirement between offices, specifically between Brittonfield and Camillus locations. The Medical Receptionist, referred to as a Patient Navigator, travels with their assigned physician when necessary. If the physician assigned to them moves between multiple sites, the receptionist will accompany them to provide seamless administrative support. Conversely, if the physician remains stationary at one location, the receptionist will maintain their presence at that particular office. This dynamic requires flexibility, adaptability, and strong organizational skills.
HOACNY offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, in addition to stipends and bonuses as part of the compensation package. The company also provides a generous benefits program designed to support employees' overall well-being and professional growth. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, 401k or pension plans, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, advanced paid time off, floating holidays, and convenient free parking.
The Medical Receptionist position at HOACNY is ideal for motivated and team-oriented professionals who want to make a meaningful difference in the oncology field. This role not only demands strong administrative expertise but also requires excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, peers, and clinical staff. HOACNY is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, ensuring equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. The organization also strictly adheres to fair employment practices related to citizenship and immigration status.
If you have experience in a medical office setting, are knowledgeable in medical terminology, and possess strong computer and communication skills, this position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your career within a respected oncology practice. HOACNY values professionalism, compassion, and dedication to patient care, making it an attractive employer for those seeking a meaningful role within healthcare administration.
